Compare Conveyancing Services
Conveyancing is a necessary part of any property transaction. Whether you are buying or selling a home, there will be a requirement for some conveyancing processes to take place.
There is much contention around the right price to pay for conveyancing, and what does and does not constitute a good conveyancing deal.
Thankfully, we are living in an age where strong movement in the property market means that there are plenty of good conveyancing deals to be found – but you have to shop around and know what to look out for.
If you are seeking a good conveyancing deal there are certain things you should keep in mind.
In order to decide which conveyancing firm to use you should consider the following.
A price guarantee
Any decent, reputable conveyancing firm will offer a price guarantee. In today’s current market this is one of the only ways that conveyancing firms can remain competitive. The fee should be a one-time fee and should cover all steps of the conveyancing process.
No hidden costs
Part of providing a price guarantee is ensuring clients there are no hidden costs. Before you decide on a conveyancer, get it in writing that there are no ancillary costs which can be added to the transaction such as; postage costs, photocopying and stationery costs and any other costs that may result from settlement day.
Free Advice over the phone
Especially if this is your first property transaction, you need to choose a conveyancer who you feel will look after you no matter what the circumstances. Therefore, you should have access to your conveyancer over the phone during the conveyancing process. You may not need to call your conveyancer during the transaction of your property, but it’s nice to have the option there, for free, if you ever require.
No charge unless settlement
Some conveyancers will not charge you unless settlement is reached on the property. There are circumstances where a contract on the sale of a property cannot be finalised and this can be entirely outside of your control. You should not have to pay your conveyancer until settlement has occurred – and if you stick to the above advice you should know exactly how much you owe well before you owe it!
Whenever you are buying or selling a property, you will need the solid support of a conveyancing firm you can trust. Good deals on conveyancing should still cover the above necessities, and you should feel completely confident with a firm before you decide to appoint them for the purpose of your conveyancing.
Happy house hunting!
